AtlantOS workshop

On behalf of S. Gruber, Head of Unit at European Commission DG RTD Björn Suckow was invited to represent the EnviGuard project at the AtlantOS workshop on Strategies, methods and new technologies for a sustained and integrated autonomous in-situ observing system for the Atlantic Ocean.

From 2nd to 4th of November 2016 it was held this 3-day scientific and technical workshop, in Telde (Gran Canaria-Spain) at the premises of PLOCAN. The workshop was an initiative of the AtlantOS project. The activities were aiming at better integrating cross-cutting issues, emerging networks and technological innovation activities for the enhancement of the Atlantic network of autonomous observing systems and to foster collaboration with the other Ocean of Tomorrow projects.

 

In the framework of the emerging technology session on November the 3rd, Björn Suckow gave an extensive EnviGuard project overview. He also presented the key results achieved so far, including TRL estimates, so that the representatives of the observatory network could assess the possibility of integration at a later stage.
