On the 18th and 19th July the Sensors in Food and Agriculture 2018 conference took place in Norwich, UK.

The conference focused heavily on discussion of development of chemical and bio-sensors for application in the area of food production. Dr Ian Johnston presented an overview progress on the three sensing systems under development and of the challenges of packaging and integrating sensing systems for in-the-field operation. The implementation of three independent sensing platforms within one system and the lack of currently commercially available technology in the marketplace was of considerable interest to attendees.
