Aquaculture Europe 2017

On Friday, October 20th 2017, EnviGuard coordinator Björn Suckow presented EnviGuard’s latest findings from the Algae and Chemical Detection unit at the Aquaculture Europe 2017 conference and trade fair in Dubrovnik.

AE2017 was a great success, with close to 1700 particpants from more than 60 countries.

AE2017 attracted a total participation of 1.688 from 62 countries. Of the full conference delegates (1294), 255 were students. The trade show presented products and services from 92 exhibitors and had 394 visitors. A total of 437 oral and 356 poster presentations were given during the conference. 

The presentation of our coordinator, Björn Suckow, “ADVANCES IN BIOSENSOR TECHNOLOGY FOR MONITORING HARMFUL ALGAE, ALGAE TOXINS AND PCBS” was part of the session “Aquaculture, the Environment and Climate Change”. It attracted approx. 50 people. Interest in this new technology especially from shellfish farmers was high. Prior to his presentation Björn disseminated the project through flyers on the trade fair.
