26 people from ten different nations participated in the EnviGuard workshop in Bremerhaven Germany. They were representing companies from the UK, Brazil, Colombia, Germany, Spain, Malta and Italy, as well as researchers from Spain, Germany, UK and Vietnam. Besides a presentation of the technical functionality of the EnviGuard system and the ferry box, a practical hands-on examination of both was done. In addition, the Centre for Aquaculture Research in Bremerhaven was visited to give an inside into possible applications of the technology.
At the end of the workshop feedback from the participants was collected in an open discussion.
EnviGuard was perceived as a very impressive project. From the present people the highest interest in future application was towards the Algae Detection Unit but all units– their functionality provided – including the FerryBox have a potential on the market. The would be completely new for example for Vietnam, Brazil and Colombia but also of interest to the European market.
The morning concluded with a lunch where they discussed and did closing remarks about their experience in the training workshop.
